George Garofalakis

I’m a Senior GIS Consultant with over a decade of experience in spatial data analysis, visualisation, and geoprocessing across the UK and Luxembourg. I currently work part-time as a GIS Specialist at Zeyen+Baumann and am a long-term collaborator with Allies and Morrison – Urban Practitioners, one of the UK’s leading architecture and planning firms. In my work, I focus on integrating GIS into design and planning processes, mentoring colleagues in GIS applications, and developing strategies for workflow optimisation and data-driven design. My goal is to bridge technical precision with creative communication — using spatial data to support urban design, masterplanning, and policy research.

I hold an Academic Certification in Geographic Information Science and Cartography from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, a Master’s in Urban Design from UCL’s Bartlett School of Architecture, and an Engineering Diploma in Planning and Regional Development from the University of Thessaly. My background in design allows me to approach GIS not just as a technical discipline but as a creative and analytical tool for storytelling, exploration, and visual thinking. Based in Luxembourg, I continue to explore how spatial data can inform design-led insight and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
